About Chelsea

Chelsea Stephens is an Assistive Technology Consultant at ImproveAbility. 

Chelsea began her career in the disability field at a Center for Independent Living in Lubbock, Texas, where she worked as a Case Manager advocating for individuals with disabilities by connecting them with community resources such as affordable housing, rental and utility assistance, food assistance, and other independent living services.  After two years in case management, she discovered a passion for assistive technology and spent the next six years helping individuals identify technology solutions that supported independent living, enabling them to continue living safely and successfully in their own homes.

Chelsea believes the right technology can remove barriers and create opportunities.  She enjoys working alongside individuals and families to identify personalized solutions that empower people to achieve their goals and live more independently.

Outside of her job, Chelsea enjoys graphic design, growing her vinyl record collection, taking far too many pictures of Texas sunsets, and watching a good TV show/movie from the 90s.
