What we do

ImproveAbility is an assistive technology consulting company. We provide assistive technology assessments and recommendations. We are also able to help you set up and use your assistive technology. In addition to providing these services, ImproveAbility is the manufacturer rep for a very select group of products that we believe in.

We will come to your home or jobsite to assess what assistive devices or strategies are needed for you to achieve the highest level of function. Since every case is unique, please contact us to discuss your needs. We are knowledgeable of funding sources and will help you find funding for our services and/or products, if available.

If a person is having difficulty getting around or accessing their home, we can help! We are able to perform home assessments and provide recommendations as to products and/or strategies that will make your home a safe and accessible environment.

There are many products on the market that may allow you to access your home without having to make structural modifications. These products are attractive to those with temporary and/or changing needs.

If you are considering making structural modifications to your home, we can help you design an assessable space, provide drawings and specifications to your contractor, as well as provide ongoing support for during the modification process.

If you are building a new home, we are able to help you make your home accessible from the ground up. By consulting with us, you can feel confident that you are making the correct modifications for your specific needs. Most contractors and architects are not disability specialist. By getting ImproveAbility involved in your home access project, you will be making the correct modifications the first time, which will save you time and money in the long run.

If you are experiencing discomfort or pain due to your work environment, we are able to help! We can help you layout your work space and make recommendations to help reduce repetitive stress injuries.

If you have any sort of disability or limitation the prevents you from being able to perform parts of your job, we can help you find solutions that will get you back to work and being more productive.

If you are not able to speak due to a disability, we can help you find products or strategies to help you communicate with your family and friends.

ImproveAbility does not provide language assessments, but we are knowledgeable about the AAC products on the market.

Also, we have extensive experience working with people with Amyotrphic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) aka Lou Gehrig's Disease. We are able to you choose the correct product.

In addition to very high tech solutions, we are knowledgeable about simple low tech products/strategies that can make communication better. These low tech solutions are helpful with the sophisticated communication device is not available.

ImproveAbility is able to help you to be able to use a computer no mater what your limitations. We are knowledgeable of all ranges of products and how they can be best utilized to help you use your computer.

Environmental Control refers to those activities of daily living that have to do with controlling items in your environment, sometimes referred to as EADL痴 (Electronic Activities of Daily Living). These can be such activities as changing the channel on the television to opening a door to controlling the temperature in the room. There are many products on the market that make performing these activities easier for people with disabilities. We can help you find the best solution for your needs

ImproveAbility is aware of many funding resources for assistive technology. We will help you find funding for our services and products whenever possible.
